City suburb having 700 streetlights replaced as council looks to save energy
Sprowston Town Council will be replacing hundreds of the area's sodium lightbulbs with energy-efficient LEDs this spring and summer as part of efforts to save energy and money.
Costing around £150,000, the project is anticipated to save about £60,000 to £70,000 per year, depending on electricity prices, and should pay for itself in two to three years.
