City homes could receive £30k for heat pumps, solar panels and insulation

Nearly £17m of government grant money will be used by City Hall to improve energy-inefficient properties during the next three years.

More than £12m of that money will go towards the council's social housing where 1,400 solar PV systems, 140 air source heat pumps and a ground source heat pump system will be installed.

An air-source heat pump (Image: Norwich City Council) The rest - £4,745,000 - will support low-income households living in privately owned or rented homes of an EPC rating between D and G.

As many as 330 homes could benefit from this scheme, with each having available a maximum of £15,000 for energy........
