Progress update on major designer discount store due to open this year
Builders have now installed the steel framework to support the new TK Maxx at Longwater Retail Park.
(function (d, s, n) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; js = d.createElement(s); js.className = n; js.src = "//player.ex.co/player/e60d00ff-c835-4bb5-b2c7-ebc398798f91"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); js.setAttribute('programmatic', 'true'); js.onload = function () { const playerApi256912 = ExCoPlayer.connect('e60d00ff-c835-4bb5-b2c7-ebc398798f91'); playerApi256912.init({ "autoPlay": false, "mute": true, "showAds": true, "playbackMode": "play-in-view", "content": { "playFirst": [ { "title": "Update on work to build TK Maxx at Longwater Retail Park", "src": "https://large-cdn.ex.co/transformations-account/production/4a3bc053-9182-43c6-a264-62b0fb218ea8/09ea4bed-ebc6-4890-a173-44f06d7b6110/720p.mp4" } ], "playlistId": "649d64338b6b9000128a8849" }, "sticky": { "mode": "persistent", "closeButton": true, "pauseOnClose": true, "desktop": { "enabled": false, "position": "bottom-right" }, "mobile": { "enabled": false, "position": "upper-small" } } }); }; }(document, 'script', 'exco-player'));
Work on the building began last month when wooden fencing was put in to secure the site and very little could be seen of what was happening on the other side of it.

But now the steel framework towers over the fence as work progresses, giving customers who visit Next, which is adjacent to the site, a clear view of the structure.
Bullen Group, a Norwich-based company, was given permission to build the retail store towards the end of last year.
The scheme for the new shop, which is known for offering designer clothes and homeware at bargain prices, also includes additional car parking and better accessibility to the store.
Although many bargain hunters have shared their excitement over the store's new launch, the plans have been criticised by people who fear it will cause more traffic in the area.
