And last month, Gordon Chalcraft, who lives in Barnham Broome, celebrated his 90th birthday with a nostalgic spin in a 90-year-old vintage Daimler.

The jaunt was organised by Bernard Willamot, friend and former boss of Mr Chalcraft and owner of Barford Garage.

Helen Brown, daughter of Mr Chalcraft, said: "It was so lovely to see them both happy and reminiscing about the good old times when they could work on the cars."
