Historic England gives £57,100 to three working class history projects

An audio documentary called the Holiday Makers is one of three Norfolk and Suffolk projects handed a share of £500,000 by Historic England.
A project celebrating Melton Constable's railway history and a performance which will conjure up a picture of everyday life in Bungay will also get money from the Everyday Heritage programme.
The programme celebrates working class histories, with the latest tranche of funding focussing on buildings or places in rural and coastal places.
The Norfolk and Suffolk projects which will get a combined £57,100 are:
The Holiday Makers (£23,700)
In 1920, a nine-acre holiday camp opened in the village of Hemsby in Norfolk.
Bought by the Pontin's brand in 1971, at its peak the camp had expanded to 22 acres, with 512 chalets for 2,440 guests.

The Pontin's Holiday Park continued to welcome holidaymakers every year until it closed in 2009, making way for new homes.
