The police-escorted convoy on Sunday (June 28), will be the final time wind farm transporters have had to travel from King's Lynn to near Norwich.

The transformers are being carried from the port at King's Lynn to energy company Ørsted's converter station at Swardeston, off the A47 southern bypass near Norwich.

The transformers will be used to convert the power generated by the Danish company's planned Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm off the Norfolk coast, so it can feed into the National Grid.
