The seemingly coordinated theft took place just before midday on March 17 in Spencer Street.

The puppy, a brown Patterdale Terrier from a litter being raised at the home, was stolen while owner Piers was letting the pups play outside.

Piers recounted the "horrific" moment a woman approached him for a seemingly innocent chat.

As he briefly turned his back, a man in a black jumper and face covering darted from behind the woman, and grabbed........
