Officers confirmed that a man in his 30s was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of abduction of a dog, causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and criminal damage.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Station for questioning and has since been released on police bail while investigations continue.

The dog, understood to be a three-year-old Shar Pei named Bear, was reported missing earlier this month.
