New Delhi: More than 200 employees from Google and over 60 from OpenAI have signed an open letter expressing support for Anthropic’s stance on limiting how advanced AI can be used by the US military. The letter urges their companies’ leadership to resist pressure to allow domestic mass surveillance or fully autonomous weapons powered by AI.

The development adds a new layer to the ongoing standoff between Anthropic and the US Department of Defence, also referred to as the Department of War under the Trump administration. The story was first reported by AXIOS, and the letter is published on a website titled “We Will Not Be Divided.”
