Pakistan flails for global attention while India stays firm on post-Pahalgam terror doctrine

“We look for partners, not preachers.” External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s words at the Arctic Circle India Forum have made it very clear that India will no longer tolerate moral lectures from countries unwilling to confront terror originating from Pakistan.

The stinging rebuke was a swipe at Europe, highlighting India’s growing impatience with global hypocrisy, especially from Western powers who continue to sermonise even as they turn a blind eye to terrorism emanating from India’s belligerent neighbour.

Europe, EAM Jaishankar said pointedly, must move beyond a patronising posture and approach India with “mutuality of interest” and “sensitivity.”

EAM’s un mincing and blunt words further underscore India’s reaction to the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley, which killed 26 people. New Delhi, true to its diplomatic stance over the past decade, has been relentlessly unforgiving and zero tolerance to terrorism.
