Telangana High Court ordered the state government and state election commission to hold local body elections by September 30, tv9 telugu reported.

The High Court questioned the state government and the Election Commission about the delay in holding the elections even though the term of the local body governing bodies ended on January 30, 2024.

Justice T. Madhavi Devi, who took up the hearing on Monday on a petition filed by several former sarpanches challenging the non-holding of local body elections, rendered the verdict on June 25.
