India secures first long-term US LPG contracts as global trade war unfolds

New Delhi: India is preparing to secure its first-ever long-term contracts for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the United States, according to the report from Bloomberg. The move comes as global LPG flows face disruptions due to Washington’s trade tensions, reshaping access to this vital cooking fuel and plastics feedstock.

A tender document seen by Bloomberg shows that state-run oil companies plan to purchase up to three very-large gas carriers of US LPG per month in 2026. The state run companies are Indian Oil Corp., Bharat Petroleum Corp. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation. These companies altogether supply LPG to more than 331........
