A deep partial lunar eclipse will take place on August 28, the same day India celebrates Raksha Bandhan. At its peak, around 96.2 per cent of the Moon will move into Earth’s dark shadow, giving much of the lunar surface a reddish-orange colour often described as an “almost Blood Moon.”

There is one catch for skywatchers in India. The Chandra Grahan will not be visible from India, since the Moon will be below the horizon here........
