Galgotias University: Building the Research Engine for the Future

The University’s research profile today includes 9,957 Scopus-indexed publications, 80,859 citations, an h-index of 104 and 64 patents granted. Seven faculty members feature among the world’s top two per cent of scientists, while the University has secured 16 government-funded research projects from agencies including ICSSR, ANRF, CSIR, SERB and DHR, Government of India.

New Delhi: Research, innovation and academic development remain central to Galgotias University’s institutional priorities. In just 15 years, the University has built a growing research base supported by advanced infrastructure, faculty capability, doctoral programmes, industry partnerships and widening student participation.

The University’s research profile today includes 9,957 Scopus-indexed publications, 80,859 citations, an h-index of 104 and 64 patents granted. Seven faculty members feature among the world’s top two per cent of scientists, while the University has secured 16 government-funded research projects from agencies including ICSSR, ANRF, CSIR, SERB and DHR, Government of India.

These numbers provide an early indication of the research capacity being developed. The larger opportunity lies in how the University is bringing together faculty, doctoral scholars, students, advanced laboratories and industry to accelerate the quality and impact of research.

Quality and Visibility of Published Research

SciVal data provides a further view of the quality and visibility of Galgotias University’s published research. Based on CiteScore Percentile, 1,808 publications are in Q1 journals, representing the top 25 per cent of journals in their respective fields, while 1,124 publications are in Q2 journals.

Together, 2,932 publications, or 56.6 per cent of the research output covered by the journal quartile analysis, are published in Q1 and Q2 journals. Q1 publications alone account for 34.9 per cent of the analysed research output.

A further 1,195 publications, or 23.1 per cent, are in Q3 journals, while 1,050 publications, or 20.3 per cent, are in Q4 journals. The quartile distribution provides an additional measure of research performance beyond publication volume and citations, showing the proportion of Galgotias research being published in higher-quartile journals within their respective fields.
