In the Jantar Mantar of Protest & Politics, CJP must answer What’s Next

CJP is at a moment in history where its maturity is being tested. Whether it can withstand political pressure, police barricades and the emotional toll of prolonged protests without losing its moral compass remains to be seen.

Jantar Mantar has witnessed governments being challenged, political careers being born and citizens rewriting the national conversation. Walk down that stretch today and you’ll see thousands of young Indians shouting for dialogue, resignation and end of insolence.

Under a moody grey monsoon sky, it feels as if the city itself is waiting for a thunderstorm that rains down on political arrogance. But the political climate is different today than it was fifteen years ago.

This movie has played before, and the audience remembers it well. The 2026 season feels like a remake of the 2011 script. Anna Hazare was its moral centre. Arvind Kejriwal became its political protagonist. It went on to become a potboiler political thriller with the rise of the common man, a challenger to dynasty politics, an angst against corruption, a leader from the masses, followed by imprisonment, electoral setbacks and the steady fading of what once looked like India’s most disruptive political experiment.
