Madhu Kambikar spent the final decade of her life largely bedridden after suffering a paralytic attack during a Lavani performance, film journalist Dilip Thakur tells News9.

New Delhi: Veteran Marathi actress and Lavani artiste Madhu Kambikar died at the age of 73 at her Pune residence following a decade of health complications. In an exclusive conversation with News9 Digital, Film journalist Dilip Thakur paid tribute to the actress, remembering her contribution to cinema, her unassuming nature and the personal struggles she endured after a paralytic attack brought her performing career to an abrupt halt.

Madhu Kambikar, who earned recognition for her performances in Marathi and Hindi films, spent the final 10 years of her life largely confined to bed. According to Dilip Thakur, the actress passed away at approximately 6 am at her home in Pune.

Recalling the circumstances that affected her health, Thakur revealed that Kambikar was performing Lavani when she suddenly collapsed on stage. She was 63 at the time, and the paralytic attack left her unable to return to her earlier routine.
