Deep depression likely over Bay of Bengal; heavy rain alert for coastal and Western Bengal

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a deep depression before making landfall along the West Bengal-Odisha coast on Monday. Heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast in several districts, while fishermen have been advised to stay off the sea.
