DAC clears Rs 2.38 lakh crore buys: S-400, drones, guns, transport aircraft approved

The Defence Acquisition Council has approved major defence proposals worth about Rs 2.38 lakh crore to strengthen India’s military capabilities. The decisions cover key systems for the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard, including air defence, transport aircraft, and surveillance platforms.

New Delhi: The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Rajnath Singh, approved several major defence proposals on March 27, 2026, with a total estimated cost of about Rs 2.38 lakh crore, according to official statements.

The approvals include a range of systems for the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Coast Guard, aimed at strengthening operational readiness and modernisation.
