IPL 2025: Fans slam BCCI for shifting Qualifier 2 from Kolkata as rain plays spoilsport in Ahmedabad
New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was heavily criticised by fans on social media as rain played spoilsport, delaying the start of the match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday. The toss took place on time, but the start was delayed following continuous downpour in Ahmedabad.
The start of the all-important game, which will decide the second finalist of IPL 2025, has already been delayed by over 90 minutes. However, there is still enough time for a full-fledged 20-over match with an extra 120 minutes (2 hours) of allowance time before overs start getting reduced. 11:56 PM IST is the cut-off time for a minimum five-over match for a winner to be decided.
