The Issue: Mayor Mamdani condemns ICE after an angry mob riots around Wyckoff Medical Center.
Mayor Mamdani should not be picking and choosing which laws — local, state or federal — he is going to follow (“Zo slams ICE after hosp mob,” May 5).
A law is a law and he should abide by it, like it or not.
If he disregards ICE enforcement laws, why should I be required to follow any particular law I don’t agree with?

Mamdani’s preferred reason for not allowing the NYPD to cooperate with ICE is because it is “cruel and inhumane.”
There may have been incidents where his opinion has some validity but, based on the reported details of the Wyckoff Heights clash, this isn’t one of them.
He side-stepped any criticism of the protest by framing it within his general opinion of the agency, and cleverly got away with it.
An illegal migrant was arrested by ICE agents, who brought him to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn after he requested medical attention.
