The Issue: Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s visit to the Delaney Hall detention center on Memorial Day.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill disgraced her office by protesting against ICE in Newark on Memorial Day of all days.

Sherrill knows better: ICE is lawfully carrying out its duties under watchful eyes, protecting the very people she governs (“NJ gov ripped for ICE show,” May 26).

Democrats across the nation are hurting Americans and embarrassing their constituents and themselves with reprehensible demonstrations that don’t represent the opinions of many Americans.

Please leave ICE to do its job lawfully and effectively.
