Albany’s egregious Elder Parole bill: Letters to the Editor — May 5, 2026

The Issue: The state Elder Parole bill to grant a chance at early release for older convicts, even the violent.

Woke politicians, such as Sen. Julia Salazar and Assemblyman David Weprin, are campaigning for parole for some of New York’s most vicious killers (“The Walking Dread,” May 3).

They argue that keeping these killers in prison for the rest of their lives “costs a fortune.” A pity this factor wasn’t taken into consideration at the time of sentencing. If these criminals had got what they deserved — the death penalty — lots of costs would’ve been saved.

I was stunned to read that lunatic Democrats in Albany are focusing on passing two woke parole bills that could release murderers who are serving life sentences.

In my opinion, the animals that would benefit by the passing of this legislation should not be allowed to dodge their sentences because their victims cannot dodge the sentences imposed upon them and their long-suffering families.

The two woke parole bills should........
