Giving damning proof of the left’s twisted priorities, Mayor Zohran Mamdani this week mourned the death of a Rikers inmate awaiting trial for a brutal murder — with nary a thought for Clarence Woodward’s victim, or his survivors.
Progressives never miss a chance to sympathize with criminals; they see the only true crime to be putting people behind bars instead of addressing the “root causes” of social dysfunction.
“I am deeply saddened by the death of a New Yorker in City custody at a jail on Rikers Island early this morning,” Mamdani tweeted Tuesday, also extending his sympathy to Woodward’s “family and loved ones as they grieve this loss.”
