Decency desk: College-Sports Bill’s Killer Flaw

The National Collegiate Athletic Association promotes “the Protect College Sports Act” as the answer to its “college football, conference realignment and name-image-and-likeness” problems.

But “the NCAA and its lobbyists aren’t telling anyone” that the bill “is a Trojan horse for men in women’s college sports,” thunders Kim Jones at The Wall Street Journal.

One provision would stymie federal lawsuits to protect women’s sports, “halt efforts to hold the NCAA accountable under Title IX” and undo “state protections for women and girls in school sports.”

Don’t trust the NCAA, which “permits member schools to allow men on women’s teams” and “allows men to define themselves as women and use women’s locker rooms.”

America’s “female athletes deserve the full protections of Title IX.” “Solve football, solve NIL, but don’t exempt the NCAA from Title IX and state law.”
