Like a dog barking at the moon, The New York Times has spotted a fresh outbreak of anti-Muslim prejudice.
A front-page story Tuesday declared that the victory of Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary unleashed a wave of Islamophobia.
As proof, the paper cited a smattering of quotes from Republicans, including President Trump’s claim that Democrats are electing “jihadists.”
Fair enough up to a point, but the article is more broadly a reflection of the Times’ refusal to call antisemitism and anti-Americanism for what they are.
