If you look at the list of Senate cosponsors of Medicare for All, you’ll see that 17 of the 18 come from states that Kamala Harris carried in 2024. The only two from states that are at all politically competitive are Tina Smith of Minnesota and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin — and both of them endorsed the idea only after winning their seats.
