NR Is Hiring a Washington Reporter
National Review is hiring a Washington, D.C.-based National Affairs Reporter to cover campaigns, Congress, the Trump administration, and other institutions that shape American life.
This reporter will have the opportunity to write for both the magazine and National Review Online, filing a mix of feature-length articles and daily news updates and blog posts. Come work with some of the sharpest writers in the business, at a publication that’s not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom and lazy narratives from either side — and to take the arrows that come with doing so.
The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in political journalism and be familiar with, and enthusiastic about, National Review, its history, and its mission. This candidate will be versatile and able to juggle quick hits with more detail-oriented reporting and analysis. An ability to zoom out from the day-to-day grind of the political news cycle is a plus, as is a Rolodex of political sources.
Some nighttime and weekend work will be required. The position will require some travel.
Applicants should submit a résumé and a cover letter explaining their interest, along with a few clips, to editorial.applications@nationalreview.com.
Place “Washington Reporter — YOUR NAME” in the subject line.
