To the group of masked white-nationalist cowards who trespassed on the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation to strike fear into the hearts of people living there: we can only hope the full force of the law catches up to you in short order.

It should happen quickly. The group of flag-waving thugs with their white face masks and black uniforms refused to leave when asked to do so by the nation’s security guards, Chief Roseanne Casimir told CBC. They stood their ground until RCMP officers arrived. From there they drove to an overpass to hang a banner that read, “Got Bones?” This, of course, is a reference used by residential school deniers to discredit findings of ground penetrating radar that, in 2021, discovered more than 200 potential unmarked grave sites of children at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. The burial sites remain undisturbed.

The timing of the threatening action was no coincidence, coming just days before the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. I can only assume the police must know who the masked intruders are by now and should explore every avenue to lay as many criminal charges as our laws allow. To a layperson’s eye, this is racially-motivated harassment and threatening behaviour. And it is bolstering demands from many........
