My budget haul with prices cheaper than B&M shows why it's the best place to shop for toiletries, snacks and more

It's rare that I'll stock up on toiletries and laundry essentials at the main supermarkets.

For deodorants, toothpaste, fabric conditioner and so much more, I'll tend to head to one of the budget stores, either Home Bargains or B&M.

It's rare that a basket is big enough for the inevitable haul of toiletries, snacks and everything else I end up coming away with. And it's a longstanding joke that nobody quite knows what they'll end up bringing home from superstores like these.

While B&M is undoubtedly popular - and with good reason - Home Bargains' sales are through the roof right now.

Owner TJ Morris' recently filed accounts with Companies House show its turnover increased from £3.76bn to £4.20bn in the 12 months to June 2024. Its pre-tax profit also surged from £336.5m to £454.8m over the same period.

The company, which took over Quality Save stores in 2023, is reportedly putting it down to opening new shops, relocating some existing sites........
