I made a £2.15 a head Easter lamb roast dinner from the supermarket where essentials have been cheaper than Aldi and Lidl
Chocolate might be the order of the day for Easter, but most people will find themselves tucking into a roast dinner over the bank holiday weekend.
Supermarkets are in strong competition to pull in the customers at this time of year and most of them have reduced their vegetables including carrots and potatoes to as low as 8p a bag, similar to the reductions we see at Christmas.
While it might seem odd to find products so cheap, especially with the way we've seen food prices shoot up in the cost of living crisis, taking a cut there means shoppers are likely to come in spending big on lots of other stuff for the long weekend.
