This Fast-Growing Florida Healthy Food Chain Is Coming to Maryland

The chain just opened its first Maryland store and plans for more as demand for acai bowls and healthy fast-casual options grows among Gen Z.

Maryland may be known for crabs and old bay seasoning, but there will soon be more acai bowls. Grain and Berry, a franchised chain based out of Tampa, Florida, just opened its first location in the state, in Baltimore’s Harbor Point neighborhood, and has plans to open at least three more locations in Maryland.

The franchise was founded in 2017 by CEO Trey Kessler, Douglas Lang, and his wife Kirsten Lang, and has been quickly adding new locations,.
