Last week, Anthropic released a new agent AI system called Opus 5, and Andon Labs—a London-based AI safety and research startup—tested out the model to see how good a capitalist it could be. The results may surprise you: It is really good at capitalism, and it’s happy to use the kinds of deception and power-seeking tricks you may associate with the worst class of car dealer, or a snake oil seller in the Old West. In fact, Andon Labs called it “the best AI capitalist we’ve tested.”
