With AI flooding offices, you may think brushing up on computing skills is the best way to help your career. The reality of today’s workplace says something different.

Experts say that AI is already shaking up the workplace, prompting some analysts to work out which jobs are most immediately at risk, and which are very safe. There’s also a proven need to educate workers on an ongoing basis about the promises and risks of AI tech. But a new report published in the Harvard Business Review shines a very different light on the matter, and it suggests that as AI impacts people’s jobs, it’s actually their soft, human skills that are more important to brush up on — for both the workers themselves, and the companies that employ them.
