A Company Will Pay $6 a Page for Your Work Documents. In Most Cases, They Aren’t Yours to Sell

A lucrative offer for professional files comes with a major catch: Most employees don’t own the documents they create at work.

Is the offer to sell your work documents to train AI a real opportunity, or is it too good to be true?

According to reporting from Business Insider, a company called Handshake AI is offering to pay $6 per page for “high quality” professional documents. In the LinkedIn listing for the opportunity, Handshake AI announces, “Earn up to $30,000 by contributing documents that you own or are authorized to share.” The listing requests text-based files (explicitly not spreadsheets or presentations), especially in the fields of consulting, finance, law, and computer science.
