Eurovision Suffers Fresh UK Ratings Blow In Another Controversial Year For The Contest
Remember Monday represented the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest
Eurovision suffered another ratings dip in the UK over the weekend, for the second year in a row.
Following the event in 2024, it was reported that the annual song contest had shed around two million viewers year-on-year, a drop of just under 25%.
Although a fall in viewing figures in the UK was to be expected last year (the previous contest had been held in the UK for the first time in a quarter-century, meaning more people than usual would have been tuning in), it also came at the end of an especially controversial Eurovision, largely relating to Israel’s participation.
It’s now been revealed that this trend of dipping viewing figures in the UK continued into 2025, with 6.7 million viewers watching live on BBC One, compared to last year’s 7.6 million.
