Is there really such thing as a 'cursed' restaurant unit? You'll likely know somewhere that fits the bill. The kind of spots that never quite take off, regardless of what exciting new concept moves in.
Hold off on calling in a priest or settling down for a séance. When I talk of cursed units, I don't mean that sort of cursed.
Aside from the ones poured from glass bottles behind the bar, no spirits are lurking in these spaces. And though the rapid business turnover rate can be frightening, it's unlikely that any supernatural element is involved.
But I'm sure that you'll all know somewhere that fits the bill. The kind of spot that never quite takes off, regardless of whatever novel new concept moves in to take up the challenge next.
Dining in Glasgow's Southside for this week's restaurant review brought me a few doors down to what I consider to be the perfect example of the phenomenon.
