'This was the reality of student life during Covid'
As Scotland reflects on five years since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, student Lucy Malloch reflects on her university experience and her formative years in further education, examining what was lost - and also found.
Walking into the cold lecture hall I was met with a wall of unrecognisable, slightly nervous faces staring back at me.
As a second-year student they should have been familiar, our friendships built during a first year of collaboration and study. Collectively we should all have looked a lot more confident.
It was not the typical first day of second year at university. This was, however, the reality of student life during the time of Covid.
Looking back on the first two years of my degree today, as I near the end of my studies at Strathclyde, I am beginning to understand how unusual that formative experience was.
All lectures were transferred online........
