Never mind Donald Trump - where is the BBC's apology to Palestinians?

US President Donald Trump's threats to sue the BBC over an edit of his 6 January 2021 speech have been met with a swift apology and the resignation of News CEO Deborah Turness and director general Tim Davie.

The speed at which action has been taken is astonishing in comparison to complaints against the BBC’s perceived bias on a number of serious issues. The network has, for over two years, failed to objectively report on Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. For perhaps the first time in history, journalists, healthcare personnel, non-governmental organisations, and military contractors, and displaced civilians, have shared videos in real-time and provided testimony via social media documenting Israel's violations of international law.

These include inducing famine by blocking distribution of food and other aid supplies, sexual violence, and bombings and attacks on hospitals and health staff, housing complexes, journalists’ tents, including over 97 attacks within designated humanitarian safe zones. Yet, the BBC and multiple other news platforms continue to report it as a “conflict”.
