The anatomy of human decay

We are standing on a cliff, looking deep into the abyss, waiting for our own doom. We stand helpless. We freeze, as if we were statues: emotionless, yet full of emotions at the same time. We are confused. We pity ourselves and others. We read our stories backwards, and the bygone horrors come crashing down upon us. We feel like hypocrites. Our inner synchronisation feels lost. Between what we are and what we purport to be, an unbreakable, unshakable wall has risen. Scaling it feels like embracing death.

We are dancing on the turf of our own destruction. We are blind to it. Everything that once brought joy now feels monotonous. Anhedonia has taken over. Nihilism defines us. We are sick. We have developed diseases unknown to previous generations. The future, the past, and the present feel so intertwined that we can no longer define what time is. We have become spiritually poor, intellectually bankrupt, and emotionally weak. Resilience is now a memory. Integrity exists only in the annals of history. Being empathetic has come to mean cutting your veins open and watching yourself bleed to death. We have become so sensitive that our forefathers would have laughed in our faces. So unnecessarily pedantic that God Himself would make a mockery of us. We were given the ability to think, yet we have hijacked it and reshaped it to suit our indolence. Those of us who could see have willingly put on........
