There are collections of poems, and then there are chronicles of the soul. Dr. Kansal’s The Rainbow In My Eyes belongs to the latter category. In an age where poetry is often reduced to Instagram and Facebook captions, this collection dares to do something radical—it tells a whole story. It is not a random gathering of verses but an emotional autobiography arranged in five distinct movements: Invocation, Descent, Silence, Memory, and Healing. The journey it charts is one millions live but few articulate: from loving wholly, to breaking quietly, to healing on one’s own terms.

The title itself is not metaphorical decoration but a thesis. A rainbow does not appear despite the rain but because of it. The book asks us to view heartbreak not as an ending but as a necessary weather system for the self to be reborn.

The Invocation of LoveThe collection begins in pure light. Poems like “My Dear Soulmate,” “I Love You Madly,” and “My Soulmate” establish love not as emotion but as cosmology. When the poet writes, “I’m your moon, you’re my sun,” it suggests a bond written before birth, before time. “We Welcome The New Year Together” extends celestial love into domestic hope—the ordinary, deeply human dream of growing old together, sharing calendars and mornings.
