To Jantar Mantar for the Statehood
After a gap of more than thirteen years, the Jantar Mantar is slowly coming back to life , as a centre for registering protest against the government. With Cockroach Janata Party’s campaign to dislodge the Union Education Minister, on the NEET paper leakage matter, going on and Sonam Wangchuk carrying on his fast in support of the demand, comes the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, if allowed, with his band of protestors to press the demand for the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir which it has lost on 5th August, 2019.
The demand for restoration of statehood is in the interest of all. It is really unfortunate that a straightforward case has become a controversial one, with two regions of Jammu and Kashmir pulling in opposite directions. Restoration of the statehood to the erstwhile state seems to have ignited the underlying faultiness in the erstwhile state. When on 5th August 2019 the Union Home Minster,Amit Shah, moved a resolution to de-operationalize Article 370 and a Bill to reorganize J&K state, by separation of Ladakh and demoting state to a Union Territory, he assured Rajya Sabha that J&K will soon be a State, again.
