Recent headlines have been grim for Gen Z’s prospects in the job market. But they may have an edge in one area: AI skills.

Employers are pulling back on hiring recent grads—yet, nearly half said they are actively seeking AI-native talent, which Gen Z feels the most fluent in, according to new Indeed data. Kyle M.K., senior talent strategy advisor at Indeed, says organizations should discuss what they want out of emerging talent and how they define an entry-level role.

“These are highly intelligent individuals who are educated in the world of technology,” says M.K., who added that it would be a mistake to view their roles as unnecessary.
