Experts are sounding the alarm as jet fuel prices continue to climb amid the ongoing war in Iran.

John Gradek, an aviation risk management expert at McGill University, told Forbes he expects jet fuel to hit $200 a barrel by the end of this month and $225 by the end of the year—a 15% increase from the $194.90-per-barrel global average reported at the end of last week.

The fuel crunch is just one of several major issues facing U.S. airlines.
