India’s business landscape is being shaped by leaders building with a clear understanding of how industries actually work. Across sectors, these five business leaders are not just growing companies but addressing structural gaps, strengthening execution, and creating long-term value, offering a closer look at the thinking driving India’s next phase of business leadership.

Nikhil Oswal: The Thinking That Drives Finterest Capital

Nikhil Oswal didn’t come into the markets with a legacy behind him — what he had was time, and he used it. In his early years, he was constantly moving between AGMs, investor meets, and promoter interactions, trying to understand how businesses actually function beyond balance sheets. He was tracking over 100 companies a year, building his own way of looking at value.

When he started Finterest Capital in 2021, the challenge wasn’t markets, it was trust. Without a track record, every conversation mattered. He spoke to thousands of people himself to onboard his first set of clients. There was no brand to lean on, only consistency and conviction.

That same approach shaped how the business grew. Finterest didn’t expand by adding services, it expanded by staying close to where capital and companies meet. Today, it advises over ₹150 crore, works across investor segments, and partners with listed companies on investor relations and capital raises.

The direction, however, has been clear from the beginning. Research was never the end goal. Oswal has been building toward a firm that can not only advise capital, but manage it, at scale and with control over execution.

As Finterest moves toward launching its own PMS and entering asset management, the ambition is to grow into an institution that sits at the centre of capital, companies, and long-term participation in India’s equity markets.
