GUEST APPEARANCE: What Americans really want
Syndicated columnist Matt Lewis, in his column of July 1, is projecting Republican threats to democracy, accusing the amorphous “political left” for the political problems the country faces. Is Mr Lewis not hearing which party is threatening, suing, insulting the press? Which party is undermining and eliminating voting rights for Americans?
The Republican party is not only losing MAGA minions and moderates, they’re losing elections. He laments that “America is drifting towards a politics in which both parties become hostage to their most passionate and least restrained factions.”
Americans are looking for another way to govern and yet fall for the tricks by the same old, same old. It is common knowledge that the Republican and Democratic parties are financed by many of the same corporations and wealthy individuals.
Recent elections in NYC and CO indicate that more Americans want change and are not afraid of the boogey-ideology: socialism. Many Americans are learning that socialism has a long history in the United States, dating back to the early 19th century. Look it up.
