(UCA News) — India teeters on the edge of something dangerous. Three forces are quietly dismantling the nation’s democratic soul: blind loyalty, corruption, and misinformation. They do not work alone. They are partners in destruction, each one amplifying the other until the damage becomes almost irreversible.

Of the three, misinformation is the most lethal. Not because it causes the most immediate harm, but because it erodes the very ability to recognize harm at all.

Look at the 2021 farmer protests. Legitimate concerns about agricultural policy disappeared beneath a flood of manufactured narratives. Some portrayed farmers as terrorists. Others accused the government of engineering mass starvation. Two versions of reality emerged, coexisting in the same country yet unable to touch.

Blind loyalty prepares the ground for this collapse. It turns citizens from critical participants into tribal defenders. When educated, middle-class Indians justify policies that strain their own finances simply because their party proposed them, something essential has broken. When entire........
