I want Pierre Poilievre to be Canada’s next prime minister, but I’m beginning to question whether he wants the job.

Poilievre continues to go out of his way to alienate different factions of the conservative movement and pick unnecessary fights with people who should be his allies.

On Saturday at his Stampede BBQ in Calgary, Poilievre used his introduction of newly elected B.C. Conservative Party Leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay to take a shot at Ontario Premier Doug Ford and his team.

“The future premier of British Columbia, Kerry-Lynne Findlay, way to go, fresh off a big win against Liberal lobbyists from out east,” Poilievre said.

That was a direct shot at Kory Teneycke, the man who has run Doug Ford’s last three election victories in Ontario and who managed Caroline Elliott’s campaign in the B.C. Conservative leadership race. Elliott finished second to Findlay.

Poilievre was also attacking some of his former employees

It was also a drive-by smear of the many people who had previously worked to elect Poilievre as Conservative leader and as prime minister, who would go on to work on Elliott’s campaign. Smearing those stalwarts of his previous team, like Anthony Koch or Ben........
