One of the oldest Nonconformist chapels reaches major milestone in restoration
The scaffolding has finally come down at Walpole Old Chapel, near Halesworth, revealing the results of a major restoration project.
The Grade-II listed chapel has completed the latest phase of a repair and conservation programme aimed at securing the future of the historic building.
Simon Weeks, secretary of the Walpole Old Chapel Trust, said: "Five years ago it seemed almost impossible we could carry out this repair and conservation project successfully.
