In Beccles, more than 3,000 metres of metal pipe along Lowestoft road will be swapped for modern, durable plastic piping.

The work, being carried out by Cadent, will begin on July 27 and is expected to last for 17 weeks, finishing on November 16.

Eleanor Buxton, head of work management at Cadent, said: "The gas pipes in this part of Beccles have been working hard for many decades, but it’s now time to replace them so we can continue to deliver gas safely and reliably to homes and businesses.
