People in Halesworth living along Holton Road to the east of the town claim the route has become increasingly dangerous for pedestrians and motorists.

A petition, organised by Mark Limbrick, is urging Suffolk County Council to introduce a mandatory 20mph speed limit zone on the stretch between the Halesworth Post Office roundabout and the entrance to Hill Farm Road.

Campaigners say the measure is needed to address longstanding concerns about speeding traffic and a narrow railway bridge that leaves pedestrians feeling vulnerable.
